Dave, of counsel to the firm, is a founding partner and is recognized by his peers and the judiciary as an AV Preeminent® lawyer. For more than 30 years, he represented insureds in civil litigation, including handling legal malpractice and other professional liability claims, civil rights, personal injury, liquor liability, and AIDS transfusion cases, as well as automobile liability, UM/UIM, premises liability and miscellaneous insurance defense cases. Dave’s practice focused on defending public officials and police officers in civil rights cases and representing parties in federal court litigation, including trying civil rights cases in federal court and representing litigants in state courts throughout Western Pennsylvania. He handled litigation involving oil and gas issues. He has argued before the Third Circuit and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Dave is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association. Dave started his legal career clerking for the Federal District Court in Pittsburgh from 1983-1985. Dave graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and cum laude from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law where he was a member of the Law Review.
